本州、九州及び台湾に分布する。L. robertiやL. rotundusに似るが、前翅に重複刺毛が無いことで容易に区別できる。温帯域のスダジイの葉に生息する。

This species is distributed across Honshu, Kyushu, and Taiwan. It resembles L. robertti and L. rotundus, but can be easily distinguished by the absence of duplicated cilia on the forewings. It inhabits the leaves of Castanopsis sieboldii [Fagaceae] in the temperate region.
